The total cost of the programs listed below are either partially or fully paid by Vancouver Island North Tourism meaning the remaining cost, if any, is greatly reduced for the participating stakeholders. This may allow stakeholders to be represented where it would have otherwise been cost-prohibitive. Over 140 North Island tourism businesses have stretched their marketing dollars farther by taking advantage of the cooperative opportunities offered through Vancouver Island North Tourism. The following programs are now available for you to get involved!

 




Introducing
Give Back Getaways: Storm Watching & Stewardship Packages

We are excited to share a new initiative from Vancouver Island North Tourism (VINT) for the upcoming fall and winter season: Give Back Getaways: Storm Watching & Stewardship. We believe this campaign aligns perfectly with our commitment to the community and offers a great opportunity to drive business during the shoulder season.

Campaign Goal

The campaign is designed to encourage visitation and increase engagement with the Live the Wild Pledge Beach Clean Up Initiative during the fall and winter months. We plan to link the popular draw of storm-watching tourism and cozy winter staycations with meaningful environmental stewardship, focusing on promoting lesser-known beaches. The primary audiences are Vancouver Island local residents interested in staycations and visitors seeking unique winter experiences and sustainable travel options.

How You Can Partner

We are seeking collaboration from local accommodations and businesses to create unique value for visitors.

For Accommodation Partners:

We are looking to co-develop two key offerings:

  1. Storm Watching & Shoreline Stewardship Package: Offer a weekend package that includes cozy, oceanfront accommodations, storm-watching views, and a beach cleanup event with a warm treat like hot cocoa or mulled cider afterward.

  2. “One Night Free for the Sea” Discount: Offer guests a free night if they book a three-night stay, a discount, or an added perk (such as a complimentary dinner, breakfast basket, or local beer flight) if they book a two-night stay and participate in a beach cleanup day.

For Restaurants, Artisan & Activity Partners:

We would love to feature your services or products to enhance the guest experience:

  1. Incentives & Discounts: Provide discounts or coupons for complimentary dining (like a free appetizer), or in-store discounts at retail locations.

  2. Welcome Kit Contributions: Contribute local artisan gifts (like tea, soap or candles) or specialty goods to be included in the “Clean the Coast Welcome Kit” given to participants.

  3. Guided Trip Add-ons: Offer a guided trip option to be added to the Storm Watching & Stewardship Packages.

This campaign is an excellent way to capture the attention of environmentally conscious travelers and increase your bookings throughout the fall and winter.
