2nd Chance RopeWorks

Are you on the hunt for a truly unique souvenir from the beautiful Northern Vancouver Island area?

Then I welcome you to visit 2nd Chance RopeWorks Art Studio in Hyde Creek to find your piece of one-of-a-kind functional art made entirely of RePurposed rope once used to catch wild halibut, cod and prawns in British Columbia’s sustainable, commercial fisheries.

At my Studio, you will find handwoven rope doormats, baskets, wreaths, and colourful Jellyfish. Creatively incorporated into each piece, are nautical rope-working designs and techniques I learnt as a kid while growing up living and commercial fishing along the B.C. Coast.

Each of my handcrafted pieces is accompanied by a story of the rope’s origins, coastal family heritage, vessels and commercial fishing history. This personal touch adds a unique layer of individuality to where each piece finds it’s forever home

I’m also happy to welcome you to my studio
for a firsthand experience of how I repurpose and reimagine large quantities of waste rope.

Giving these retired ropes a 2nd Chance at life as functional art provides a green alternative for waste disposal and re-enters this potential end-of-life material into the circular economy.
