Ways to Stay

Whether Vancouver Island North is your destination or a short term base, a critical key to any holiday is a place to lay your head at day’s end.  You’ll find a wide array of accommodation here for singles, couples, families and groups.  From budget to sky’s the limit.  Charming bed and breakfasts to full service hotels.  No frills tent camping to luxurious resorts.

What are you looking for in accommodation?  Are price, location and ease of booking on your check list?  Do you love all the amenities?  A social creature looking to meet other travelers?  Want to find out more by staying with a local family?  We’ve got you covered.

Hostels

You may think of a hostel as a bunk bed filled room.  Its true many hostels have a dorm room but you’ll also find private rooms with an ensuite.  Once the domain of young backpackers, hostels have become popular with travellers of all ages.  Share travel stories with fellow adventurers in comfortable communal areas and prepare your own meals in a fully equipped kitchen.  Hostels are truly a place where the world comes together.

Bed & Breakfasts

Perhaps you’re looking for a deeper connection to the region.  Bed and breakfast hosts have loads of local knowledge.  And they’re happy to provide tips on what to see and do and favourite local eateries. Breakfast menus are as unique as each property but you’re guaranteed a meal to provide the energy for the day’s adventure.  Bed and breakfasts give guests a chance to socialize over breakfast as well as the option for refresh and recharge time in your private quarters.  As one of our bed & breakfast hosts aptly puts it you’ll, “arrive as strangers – leave as friends.”

Campgrounds & RV Parks

Whatever form your “home away from home” takes from pitching a humble tent in the great outdoors to a fully loaded and powered big rig, it’s scientifically proven that being outdoors improves our emotional and physical health.  The combination of wild fresh air, getting up close and personal to beaches, forests, and starry night skies almost guarantees a better night’s sleep.  Camping is available at BC Provincial Parks, private campground & RV parks and recreation sites.  Some campgrounds are closed over the winter or amenities may be scaled back so it’s always a good idea to do some pre-planning off season.

Hotels & Motels

There’s a feeling of being well and truly pampered to come back to a room with fresh clean towels and someone making your bed.  There are a variety of full service hotels and motels most located in the centre of the communities close to shops and services.  Convenient for you to find your way to adventure tours and sightseeing opportunities. While amenities vary from place to place hotels & motels here typically offer daily housekeeping, in-room toiletries, Wi-Fi and free parking.  Some have a restaurant onsite and you will also find properties that offer ease of accessibility if you’re traveling with children or a family member with a disability.

Resorts & Lodges

Combining Vancouver Island North’s natural beauty with exceptional amenities and cuisine, resorts and lodges are set amidst rugged mountain ranges and spectacular seascapes.  Many properties are self-contained with everything you need for a perfect holiday.  Some provide nature and wildlife tours, spa treatments and yoga classes or toe tapping music nights under the stars.

Wherever you decide to spend your nights, Vancouver Island North is an ideal base for endless recreational opportunities and lodgings to match your specific needs.  Experience life in small coastal communities.  Whatever your adventure brings – there’s a bed waiting for you.  Come stay with us.
